Economic impact and long-term benefits

Beyond its residential offerings, the project will generate substantial economic benefits for La Habra and the surrounding region. The project will generate an estimated $5.8 million in new fees for local schools in addition to new property tax in perpetuity to support the La Habra Elementary and Fullerton High School Districts, which have faced declining enrollment in recent years.
Westridge Hills will also pay for itself through taxes and fees, and result in a net surplus of more than $500,000 per year to the City to help support essential public services such as fire and police protection. These funds will also enable the city to hire back and retain staff, ensuring that vital city services continue to meet the growing needs of the community.
The project will provide more than $8 million in one-time fees for City park improvements. Additionally, the project is expected to create hundreds of construction jobs, providing significant employment opportunities for the local workforce.
In summary, the project is anticipated to generate a total recurring Citywide economic output of more than $25 million per year in direct, indirect and induced economic benefit (Westridge Hills Economic Impact Study, DTA, May 5, 2025)
